New connections and commitment to the state of Paraná

About Us

Maralto Container Terminal is a port terminal planned to consolidate Paraná’s role in national cargo handling.

Adopting the best international practices in operations, environmental management, and territorial relationship, Maralto was designed with state-of-the-art technology and a structure to handle up to 3 million TEU per year.

Covering 627,000 square meters to support cargo handling operations using 100% electric equipment, Maralto Terminal will be able to receive the world’s most modern container ships, with maximum cargo capacity, while meeting global requirements for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in maritime transportation.

Pontal do Paraná

Maralto Container Terminal will be installed in Pontal do Paraná, a municipality located on the coastal plain, 100 km from the Paraná state capital, Curitiba. The facility area does not extend over the beach but rather over a site where other port and industrial activities took place in the past.

With natural features suitable for maritime operations, the installation site has a key differential: the minimum ocean depth alongside berths (16 meters @ zero tide), which allows the mooring of the world’s largest and most modern vessels.

Caring for the natural resources and the neighboring communities is the starting point for transparent socioenvironmental management complying with society’s expectations and demands from a responsible business.

As soon as the terminal installation begins, a set of socioenvironmental programs will be implemented during the construction, transition, and operation stages.
